Homes for Haringey 'Decent Homes' work - new kitchen

It hasn't been without it's hiccups, but last month we finally had the new kitchen signed off to a standard that we - and the clerk of works - were happy with. The old one was a cheap sixties design that was falling apart by the 1980s, when we moved in. As long as time has it has been coming, it is a dramatic improvement.
The Decent Homes standard is a national programme to ensure all local authority (e.g. Council) managed properties have facilities in a reasonable state of repair - windows, roofs, kitchens, electrical wiring, front doors, bathrooms, toilets - in time for a government target date of 2010 (now widely accepted to be
